Gwinnett Expo Group
I wanted to let everyone know about a new group that will be working alongside
this group that some of you might be interested in joining. The Women of Gwinnett EXPO group will be putting together a series
of expos around Gwinnett County. Our goal is to provide a cheap advertising opportunity and a place to sell your product throughout
our county so that you can gain recognition and increase sales. Expos will be for both: you can simply advertise, or you can
sell product.
The expo group is only for those who want to organize and do the legwork to get
the expos up and running. We have a separate list where you can get the information about the expos as they come up, for those
of you wanting to be in the expos without helping to set them up. Here are the expo group expectations as listed on the homepage:
"We
are small business owners working from home, and our desire is to create a system of expos in Gwinnett County where we can
advertise and sell our products- practically for free! Working closely with Women of Gwinnett, we have branched off from the
group to better organize ambitious, hard working women who want to create a way for other women business owners to set up
shop, while paving a way for up and coming small businesses to increase sales in our community. If this sounds like something
you are interested in, please check us out. If you are just interested in being on our mailing list to find out about expos
in Gwinnett County, please join Gwinnett Expos by emailing gwinnettexpos-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
We do have a few requirements for participating in this group. The most important
is that you must actively raise money throughout the year for our Relay for Life team, and you must plan to attend the 2 day
event which occurs in the middle of May every year. You will also need to be active in helping with planning and carrying
through with various tasks required to host the expos. If you do not want to be active, this group is not for you.
You also may be asked to attend on-line or in-person meetings, once or even
twice weekly as events are getting close." (if you want to know what "actively raise money" means and are interested in the
group, please ask).
You will not be allowed to "lurk" in this group or get inside info about the expos
or have input if you are not actively helping to organize the expos.
If you join, please make sure you are there to work or you will be removed
from the group. We will come to members of WOG from time to time to ask opinions on various things such as location, timing
of events, etc. This is going to be a great thing for all of us, but only if you participate-whether by organizing them or
attending them.
